FOOD ADVENTURE: Hanamaruken [Ramen]

Another food review! [Same old introduction]
I’ve been craving for ramen these past few months. Exploring a variety of flavors!

So, there’s another  Ramen restaurant that caught my attention… The Hanamaruken Ramen! Located in Santolan Town Plaza.

This was a bit of a classy restaurant compared to other ramen restaurants and quite pricey [you’ll find out why].

But… Let’s get into a bit of their background.

Hanamaruken Ramen was founded by Takaku Arakawa in 1982. [brief background of the founder]

It was a subsidiary of the Arakawa Pork Company [a reputable meat supplier of meat in Osaka, Japan]

His inspiration came from his family background in butchery, creating beautiful sync between meat and ramen.

The secret from their dish is their expertise when it comes to preparing pork. [There are varieties of preparations from ribs, pork belly and more]

Hanamaruken Ramen has 40 branches and serves thousand of devoted customers in Osaka.
They all follow the Arakawa’s philosophy that ramen should be made with excellent meat and prepared it passionately.

1. Noodles taste average and quite soggy.
2. Meats not soft but hard to chew and bite. Although, it's tasty.
3. The soup tastes good but too much for the noodles, you get to only have a small number of noodles with that big bowl of soup.
4. Pricey for its look and taste.

I’m not disappointed with their gyoza, it tastes so good. Full of meat and spices inside. Best with the sauce, specially made for it.

They also have Rice bowls and small plates [dish] that you can choose from.

Overall, my experience was not too bad. Every ramen restaurant has its own way of preparation and serving. However, for this one, it was not the way I expected it.
