Travel Tips #1 : Booking a Hotel or Stay

0
If you are looking to book a hotel or any other type of accommodation for your next trip, there are a few things that you should keep in mind.

Like - Affordability, location, reviews, reliability, and so many more!

I've been doing that for the past years, traveling across the Philippines and internationally. And I know you do, too.

There is advanced software now that can help you compare prices and make sure you are booking with a reliable source, and let's talk about these top platforms for me that provide reliable booking and lists I know I can trust! (NO BIAS).

1. On my first list is Agoda

I've been using this for advanced booking because I do not need to pay upfront. There are some hotels or stays on the platform that will let you book the date and even the place just by making sure you confirm your card details.

With this, I can budget how much I need to save but make sure you are not starving yourself just because you need to save money from that travel.

So far, when I use this, the only con for me is the difficulty of contacting the property; it takes a day or two before they respond. If you are booking internationally and they are not versed in English, you need to make sure you have a translator that you can use (not Google Translate).

2. AirBnB

In certain countries, the use of AirBnB has been prohibited due to various issues - like a hidden camera, scams, and so many more. Nevertheless, I find AirBnB to be a useful service in my area.

It offers real-time reviews of previous customers, along with their profile information. This feature helps me to make informed decisions when selecting a place to stay.

Moreover, Airbnb allows homeowners to review their customers too, which promotes accountability and trust.

3. Booking.com

Booking.com is a highly competitive online travel agency that has gained popularity among travelers for its affordable rates and user-friendly interface. Compared to other well-known platforms, such as Agoda, Booking.com offers a better value for money.

During my recent trip to Malaysia, I decided to book my accommodation through Booking.com, and I was impressed by the platform's simplicity and efficiency.

Despite the upfront payment requirement, the rates were much cheaper than other booking websites, making it an excellent choice for budget travelers (LIKE ME) 😅.

Let's discuss an incident that happened to me on one of these platforms. 🌍 During my recent trip to Malaysia, the hotel I had booked got hacked and the hotel management sent me a message asking me to fill up a form which I did not do.

I reported this to booking.com customer support and they immediately flagged the link 🚩 and informed the hotel owner about the security breach. 🔒

Overall, I trust these three platforms the most and consider them to be reliable. Some other platforms are also trustworthy, but these three are my preferred choices.

I'd love to hear about yours! 👐
